Our popular 7-day Steps Out Retreat runs twice yearly and focuses on Frank Worthen's popular workbook Steps Out of Homosexuality. This Retreat is ideal for those unable to attend a program of longer duration. In particular, married men, men from overseas and those with a full-time career may find it more convenient.

The Retreat is held at St. Columba's Retreat Center, situated on the beautiful Point Reyes Peninsula of Northern California, just a short drive from the Pacific Ocean.

              Program Structure

The Retreat will be led by John Smid, former director of ministry for Love in Action, Memphis, and also Frank Worthen, director of New Hope Ministries. Group sessions each morning will give an opportunity for systematic study of the Steps Out Workbook and discussion of questions arising from each chapter. Its 20 chapters explore the root causes of homosexuality, the importance of relationships, and those aspects of spiritual growth that can help men dealing with same-sex attraction.

Study themes include:

• The vital necessity for an intimate relationship with God
• Understanding the root causes of homosexuality
• The part we play in our healing (how we cooperate with God)
• Spiritual warfare
• Correcting our image of God, of self and of others
• Belief, submission and displacement

Some afternoons there is an optional outing to a local place of interest. Evenings are spent in worship, prayer and fellowship. If you wish to apply, please submit the Pre-Registration Form below.

This is a Christ-centered Retreat for Christian men. Top priority will be to help each man find God for himself. It is futile to seek change without the empowerment of God; "All things are possible with God" (Matthew 19:26). The Retreat balances prayer, worship, teaching and enjoyable social times. This unique setting allows men struggling with homosexuality to examine many of the underlying issues related to their homosexual condition.

              Retreat Fees...

The Retreat fees are US$750, which includes a US$250 deposit to be submitted with each application. The fees cover accommodation, teaching materials and 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
