The Community House provides the opportunity for Christian men who find themselves isolated and alone to gain the fellowship and support of other men who have placed Jesus Christ as first priority in their lives. The house is a "safe-house" in that no one has to hide their struggles and lead a double life.

The house rules are easy to follow and provide the support that has not been found elsewhere. The atmosphere is not oppressive. The house-leader is also a mentor, listening and giving godly advice, when asked. It is not difficult to find employment in the San Rafael area.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH: The Church of the Open Door meets in the San Rafael Community Center. It has been the covering for New Hope Ministries for nearly 30 years. Church members fully understand the homosexual issue and are ready to embrace those struggling with same-sex attraction, offering fellowship and prayerful concern. Open Door is a "contemporary" church, meaning mildly charismatic.

The Community House has four small garden areas for prayer, reading or just being alone.

              Community House Rules:

1. Attend drop-in meeting on the first-Friday evening of each month.
2. Attend church Bible study every Wednesday night.
3. Attend Church of the Open Door.
4. Attend Sunday evening house meeting once a month.
5. Attend Sunday evening house dinner, unless away from home.

COST: Most rooms are in the $500.00 to $600.00 per month range. In addition to monthly rent, house members divide the cost of utilities; telephone and cable are optional.
